I built this fire pit stand out of Douglas fir, focusing on a sturdy, low-profile design that complements the wide steel bowl it supports. The frame features solid, well-fitted joinery at each corner, giving it both strength and a handcrafted look, while the natural grain and warm tone of the fir add a welcoming, rustic feel. I kept the proportions balanced so it sits firmly on the ground, creating a stable base for the fire pit while maintaining an open, airy structure beneath. Finished to highlight the wood’s character and protect it from outdoor use, the piece brings together durability and simplicity, making it a functional centerpiece for gathering around the fire.
